Cationic-Dyeable Polyester (Cationic / CDP)

Cationic-Dyeable Polyester (Cationic / CDP) — Two-tone and melange fabrics · cross-dye sportswear/fashion knits-wovens · deep brilliant shade and dye-resist (reserve) effects. Deep brilliant shades and high colorfastness; cross-dyes with regular polyester in one bath → two-tone/melange/reserve effects at no extra dyeing cost.
Cationic-dyeable polyester is made by copolymerising a third monomer (SIPM) into the PET chain; the resulting sulphonate sites bind cationic dyes. The cost of that chemical intervention is visible in the table: tenacity of 2.3–3.0 cN/dtex is the lowest in the catalogue and boiling-water shrinkage reaches 7.0. In return you can cross-dye against regular polyester in a single bath — two-tone, melange and reserve effects come out with no extra dyeing cost. Only 50/72 and 75/72 are in production; coarse filaments and the 100/150 denier range are not available in this family.
