Bright / High-Luster (“Lumine”) Yarn

Bright / High-Luster (“Lumine”) Yarn — Silk-like/satin-effect apparel and eveningwear · linings · decorative high-gloss furnishing · sportswear with sheen · blanket/carpet pile. Intense, silky, prismatic luster; trilobal also adds bulk, cover, capillary wicking and soil-hiding.
Lustre in this yarn is built in the melt, not in finishing: the titanium-dioxide delustrant is either left out entirely or held at roughly 0–0.1%, so the filament reflects light instead of scattering it. It is often combined with a trilobal cross-section; the three-lobed surface acts like a prism to give a silky sparkle and also adds bulk, cover and capillary wicking. It is used in silk-effect and satin-effect apparel, eveningwear and decorative furnishing. Trilobal carries a trade-off between soil-hiding and lustre. The production technical band for this yarn is not yet published; values are shared on request.
